Custom Ear Tag Orders: A Buyer’s Specification Checklist
Prepare model codes, pair quantities, colors, numbering files, artwork and applicator requirements for a clear custom ear tag quotation.

Custom Ear Tag Orders: A Buyer’s Specification Checklist
A useful quotation starts with a clear product specification. Send the following information together so the tag, marking and accessories can be quoted as one order.
1. Identify the tag and both components
Provide the supplier model code or a catalogue image. For a two-piece tag, specify the female tag and male button together. For example, MK2006+GY1001 lists a 100 × 75 mm female tag and a 28 mm male button. State the animal application and whether a matching applicator is needed.
2. Define quantities and colors
List the quantity for each model and color. Tell us whether quantities mean complete pairs or separate replacement components. If a particular color is essential, provide a reference and approve it on a sample.
3. Prepare a numbering file
Specify the first and last number, prefixes, leading zeros and any text on each side. A spreadsheet with one row per tag helps avoid missing or duplicated numbers. Mark where a new sequence begins for each color or batch.
4. Supply artwork and code requirements
Send your logo artwork and preferred layout. For barcodes or QR codes, include the intended encoded data and format. Marking options depend on the selected model; review a layout and an actual sample before approving production. For RFID tags, list the required electronic protocol and data format separately from the printed number.
5. Check accessories and packaging
Include applicators, replacement needles and packaging quantities. An existing applicator brand or photo is useful, but a sample fit check is still needed. State any carton labels and packing list requirements.
6. Approve the order specification
Review the model, dimensions, marking, colors, pair quantities, packaging and delivery destination together. IMINID coordinates the sample and written order details with manufacturing partners. Minimum quantity and lead time are quoted for the selected product and customization.
